Have you ever wondered how to download a song when all you’re given is its URL (e.g. http://yourdomain.com/yoursong.mp3)?

You might have asked yourself this question when sending or receiving audio files through Dropbox‘s Public Folder. Or maybe you’ve found a song you like on a website and would like to save it to your computer’s hard drive, but the browser wouldn’t allow to right-click the file and select Save As.

In those cases, fortunately, there is a way to download the linked file nevertheless: In your browser, simply add ?dl at the end of the file’s URL (e.g. http://yourdomain.com/yoursong.mp3?dl) and press enter.
