I recently updated the firmware on my full-frame Blackmagic Cinema Camera 6K from version 8.6 to 8.7 and noticed that both my Angelbird PRO CFexpress SE Type B 512 GB cards were no longer recognized. If you’re encountering the same issue, don’t worry—downgrading the firmware to version 8.6 is straightforward and should resolve the problem.

Blackmagic has an unusual approach to firmware updates. For example, the recently released Blackmagic Camera 9.1.2 Update is advertised as a new version but is only intended for some of their newer cameras. Even if you download version 9.1.2, the Blackmagic Cinema Camera 6K will only update to 8.7.

The issue has been reported on the Blackmagic Forum, so hopefully, the Blackmagic Design team will address the problem soon.
